OBJECTIVES

Improve team cohesion, increase individual wellbeing, foster inclusion, and drive community engagement by promoting women in engineering and sustainability among young people.

BACKGROUND

Viridis, a Net Zero leader in the construction industry, faced common team dynamics challenges such as siloed communication, workplace stress, and a gender-imbalanced workforce. They turned to me to provide strategic inclusion sessions and inspire the next generation of engineers.

APPROACH

My work with Viridis was multifaceted. We focused on inclusion, team cohesion, and outreach programs aimed at young people, particularly young women, to increase awareness about engineering and sustainability in construction.

1. Inclusion and Team Cohesion Sessions
Through hands-on workshops, I helped the Viridis team break down barriers, improve collaboration, and foster a more supportive work environment. My approach focused on empathy, communication, and tangible tools for everyday inclusion.

2. Educational Outreach
Together, we created outreach initiatives to inspire young women to pursue engineering and highlight the importance of sustainability in construction. These events reached over 100 young people, leaving a lasting impact on their career aspirations.

RESULTS

• Increased Team Cohesion: 90% improvement in team cohesion and stronger collaboration.
• Improved Wellbeing: Reduced stress levels and increased peer support among staff.
• Community Engagement: Positive reputation growth, with schools requesting future collaborations.
